Hetty Laycock
The poetry of organic matter

Hetty Laycock (Cambridge, 1997) is an artist whose practice moves between England, Italy and China. Her sculptures capture the dynamic essence of the organic world: crystallisations of matter that evoke the movement of wind and water, the forming of ice crystals and the resilient growth of mosses. The works commissioned for NIN celebrate life in all its forms and remind us how deeply natural elements are interconnected.
-
Racconto del vento
A vast, intricate and extremely fragile web: a metaphor for the complexity and precariousness of today’s ecosystems. The work invites us to reflect on the vulnerability of the natural landscape and to forge new, more conscious “alliances” with it.
-
Onda farfalla
The “natural colonisation” of the ceramic surface turns the work into a living entity, born from the artist’s collaboration with living matter. A sculpture that dissolves the boundaries between art and nature, between human and non-human.
